ArtPrisma Gallery presents the group exhibition “Contemporary Greek Landscape Painting” opening on Friday, May 10, at 8:00 p.m.
Greece has a long tradition in landscape painting and some of its most typical examples can be found in the plein air paintings and the impressionistic works of famous masters, such as Iakovidis, Pantazis, Savvidis, Oikonomou, Kogevinas, as well as in the art of great landscape artists, like Maleas, Parthenis, Lytras, Papaloukas, Vassiliou, Theophilos, Tsarouchis.
Art Prisma Gallery, in an attempt to make a case in point in contemporary greek landscape painting, hosts a group exhibition of works by 10 artists that offer a different approach to the greek landscape.
The participating artists are: IRENE KANA, KATIA VARVAKI, MARIA KTISTOPOULOU, DIMITRIS KOUKOS, TSIROPOULOU ADA, YANNIS KASTRITSIS, THANASIS MAKRIS, VASSILIS KARAKATSANIS, KATERINA KOKKINAKI, PANAGIOTIS SIAGRIS Rendering a greek landscape often becomes a timeless obsession for an artist, since it combines nostalgia, imagination, life experiences, and, best of all, the ample greek sunlight.
